Former Russian Tennis Player Ksenia Efremova Receives Wild Card for Roland Garros

Former Russian tennis player Ksenia Efremova has been awarded a wild card for Roland Garros, the second Grand Slam tournament of the season, as announced by the competition’s press service on social media platform X.

The 17-year-old, who was born in Moscow and acquired French citizenship in 2023, has never before played in the main draw of a WTA tournament.

Efremova has been training in France since the age of nine at the Patrick Mouratoglou Academy, where the former coach of Serena Williams works. She has claimed four ITF titles, and earlier this season she won the junior Australian Open. Currently ranked 623rd in the WTA standings, Efremova’s career is on the rise.

The main draw matches of Roland Garros will take place in Paris from May 24 to June 7.
