Posted on: 05/13/2026

Sergei Murashov earned his first shutout in the AHL playoffs, stopping all 24 shots from the Springfield Thunderbirds in a 2-0 victory for the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins. The 22-year-old Russian goaltender was named the first star of the game. In five games during the current Calder Cup playoffs, he has four wins with a .947 save percentage and a 1.47 goals-against average.

The game-winning goal for the Penguins’ AHL affiliate came from 19-year-old forward Bill Zonnon, who made his professional debut in the contest. Zonnon, the 22nd overall pick in the 2025 NHL Draft, joined Wilkes-Barre/Scranton after finishing the season in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. He recorded 46 points (14 goals, 32 assists) in 35 regular-season games with a plus-24 rating, and added 15 points (2 goals, 13 assists) in 17 playoff games.
